Where can you buy Groceries near Steel City?
You can buy your groceries at Co-op Food, right opposite the student accommodation. Tesco Express is just a 3-minute walk from the site, and several other supermarkets are a stone’s throw away, including many supermarkets specialising in Oriental, African, and Middle Eastern products.
Where can you go shopping near Steel City?
The city of Sheffield is known for its independent stores, and quite a few areas have become independent shopping districts on their own. Whether you are looking for local makers or vintage treasures and even designer boutiques, the shops in the city will not disappoint you!
By taking the Yellow Line Tram, you are only a 25-minute trip away from Meadowhall Shopping Centre, or it’s a 15-minute walk to The Moor, both of which will satisfy your shopping needs with loads of high-street shops, and don’t forget to check if they offer student discounts!

What can you do around Sheffield?
When are you moving to Sheffield for university, you will have many ways to keep yourself entertained. The ‘Steel City’ is known for the steel production that goes back in the 19th century. But long since then, Sheffield has become famous for buzzing student nightlife, great food markets, shopping experiences, and music festivals featuring the latest acts.
Sheffield has a very rich history including Kelham Island and the beautiful Peak District National Park which surrounds a third of the city, making it easier than ever to take a break in this historic landscape and enjoy nature and the fresh air. Take a trip out and visit the Kelham Island Museum or take a break at one of the many cafes or bars.
Ponds Forge is a great spot to unleash your athletic side and work up a sweat using their Olympic-sized swimming pool, indoor Gym, or many other facilities, and if you enjoy music or art there are plenty of amazing museums and galleries to learn more about Sheffield’s rich history and culture.

Set in the West Bar area of Sheffield’s city centre, you are a short walk away from thriving bars and popular student clubs such as Viper Room, The Leadmill and Tank. Next to the accommodation is The Perch which has live bands, beer festivals and serves amazing food.
